Your dentures move when they shouldn't — and you're tired of managing around it.

If any of these sound familiar, a thorough evaluation is the right first step.

01

Your dentures slide when you eat or talk, and adhesive doesn't hold for long.

02

You've been told All-on-4 is your only option for something more stable.

03

You want stability, but you want to remove your dentures to clean them at night.

04

Your diet has quietly narrowed to softer foods because biting hurts or slips.

05

You want implant-level stability without a full fixed restoration.

06

You've been quoted $30–40K for All-on-4 and want to hear about real alternatives.

07

Your medical history makes extensive implant surgery a concern.

The middle path between a traditional denture and All-on-4.

A locator denture is a removable denture that snaps onto two to four dental implants in your jaw. The implants have small attachments — called locators — that click into place when you press the denture down. It stays secure while you eat and talk. When you need to clean it, you lift it out.

Traditional dentures sit on your gums and rely on adhesive. All-on-4 is a fixed restoration bolted permanently onto implants. A locator denture gives you the stability of implants with the convenience of something you can still remove, clean, and maintain yourself — at a fraction of the All-on-4 cost, with fewer implants and simpler recovery. For many patients over 65, especially those with complex medical histories, it's the more reliable answer.

What locator dentures give back.

Implant-level stability without the cost or permanence of All-on-4.

Dentures That Snap In

Press down, they click into place. No adhesive, no slipping.

Removable for Cleaning

Take them out at night. Brush, soak, done. Easier long-term care.

Fewer Implants

2–4 implants per arch versus 4–6 for All-on-4. Less surgery.

Real Cost Savings

Typically $15K–$20K vs. $30K–$40K for All-on-4.

Eat What You Want

Foods your traditional denture made you avoid, back on the plate.

Three denture paths. Real trade-offs. No defaulting to the most expensive option.

Dr. House's quote: “I'm seeing too many All-on-Fours fail.” Not a criticism of other dentists — an honest observation that shapes how she presents options.

Path 01

Traditional Denture

Sits on your gums. Relies on suction or adhesive. Lowest upfront cost but the most daily trade-offs — shifting while eating, diet limits, adhesive failures. A starting point, not an endpoint.

Path 02

Locator Denture (Middle Path)

Snaps onto 2–4 implants. Stable while in place, removable for cleaning. Typically $15K–$20K. Shorter surgery, simpler recovery, easier long-term maintenance. The right answer for most patients exploring implant-supported options.

Path 03

All-on-4 (Fixed)

4–6 implants bolted permanently, full arch fixed in place. Typically $30K–$40K. Real advantages for the right patient — but complex, permanent, and when it fails, recovery is harder. Dr. House recommends it when the diagnosis supports it, not as a default.

Alternatives to All-on-4

  1. Step 01

    Diagnostic Evaluation

Your two-hour first visit includes full-series X-rays, cone beam CT, digital impressions, and a complete medical history. Dr. House reviews medications, bone density, and all previous dental work. Nothing is assumed.

  2. Step 02

    Treatment Planning with Robert

Dr. House studies the data, determines whether a locator denture is the right path, and plans the number and position of implants. Robert, our in-house denturist, is part of this conversation from the start. When the person diagnosing and the person building the denture plan together, the fit is better.

  3. Step 03

    Implant Placement

Dr. House and oral surgeon Dr. Becker coordinate the placement of 2–4 implants using a 3D-printed surgical guide designed from her scans. Dr. Becker places the implants. There are no surprises.

  4. Step 04

    Healing & Integration

The implants bond with the bone over three to six months. Dr. House monitors your progress and doesn't rush this stage. Proper healing is what makes the result last.

  5. Step 05

    Denture Fabrication & Fit

Robert fabricates your custom locator denture in-house. Dr. House fits it, adjusts it, and makes sure the bite is right. Follow-up visits ensure everything stays on track.

Dr. Allison House, DMD

Twenty-four years of honest denture conversations — and a standing refusal to default to the most expensive option.

Dr. House places a lot of locator dentures, and she's honest about why. She's watched All-on-4 become the industry default answer for patients with missing teeth. It's a real solution for some patients. But it's not the right solution for everyone — and when it fails, the consequences are serious. Her approach: diagnose first, then recommend the path that actually fits your bone, your health, your budget, and your daily life.

An Honest Alternative to All-on-4

Dr. House doesn't default to the most expensive option. When a locator denture is the better answer — and it often is — she says so. Typically $15K–$20K vs. $30K–$40K for All-on-4, with less surgery and easier long-term care.

No. 03

Fewer Implants, Less Surgery

Most locator dentures need just 2–4 implants per arch. Shorter surgical visit, less healing time, simpler recovery — especially important for patients with medical histories that make extensive surgery a concern.

No. 04

Staged Treatment When You Need It

Not everyone can do everything at once. Dr. House builds treatment plans that work with your timeline and your budget. CIGNA and Aetna accepted, with financing through CareCredit and Proceed Finance. There's a right moment for everybody.

What our locator denture patients say.

★★★★★

Two other practices quoted me $38,000 for All-on-4 and said it was my only option. Dr. House looked at my bone, talked to me about my life, and recommended locator dentures for half the price. A year in, they're solid. I eat apples again.

Robert made my denture in-house and Dr. House fit it herself. They kept adjusting until it felt exactly right. I take it out every night to clean it and put it back in the morning. It snaps right into place.
